The challenges you're facing

Remote workers struggling with slow VPN connections and inconsistent application performance from home

BYOD security risk — sensitive company data processed on unmanaged home computers without controls

Legacy applications that only run on Windows desktop environments preventing full cloud migration

Secure, Scalable Remote Desktops on Azure Virtual Desktop

We design and deploy Azure Virtual Desktop environments: host pool design (pooled vs personal, multi-session Windows), session host sizing and auto-scaling (scale up at 9 AM, scale down at 7 PM), FSLogix user profile containers on Azure Files, application publishing (full desktop or RemoteApp), Intune management, Conditional Access policies requiring device compliance, and performance monitoring with Azure Monitor.

Financial Services — 200 remote employees

Before

200 remote employees on Citrix with perpetual licence costs, aging server hardware, and slow performance over VPN. Hardware refresh: $400K. Remote work experience rated 2.8/5 by employees.

After

Migrated to Azure Virtual Desktop with auto-scaling. Session hosts scale from 10 (overnight) to 50 (business hours). FSLogix profiles on Azure Files Premium for sub-second login.

Citrix licence eliminated ($120K/year), hardware refresh avoided, remote work experience rating improved to 4.3/5, login time reduced from 4 minutes to 45 seconds

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from enterprise and mid-market teams across India and internationally.

What is the difference between Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365?
AVD is a managed Virtual Desktop Infrastructure where you control host pool configuration, sizing, scaling, and share costs (pay per session). Windows 365 is a fixed-price Cloud PC — one dedicated VM per user, simpler to manage but more expensive per user for shared workloads. AVD is better for large deployments, Windows 365 for smaller teams who want simplicity.
How does auto-scaling work with Azure Virtual Desktop?
AVD scaling plans automatically start additional session hosts when user load increases and shut down hosts when they're empty. A typical business hours scaling plan runs 15 hosts from 8 AM–6 PM and 2 hosts outside hours. This eliminates the cost of running all session hosts 24/7, typically reducing AVD compute costs by 40–60%.
What is FSLogix and why does every AVD deployment need it?
FSLogix is the user profile management technology required for multi-session AVD deployments. It stores user profiles in VHD containers on Azure Files storage rather than locally on the session host, allowing users to connect to any session host and get their profile, settings, and Outlook cache in seconds. Without FSLogix, user profiles are broken in multi-session environments.
How secure is Azure Virtual Desktop for financial services or healthcare?
AVD meets the security requirements of most regulated industries. Data never leaves Azure — it stays in your tenant. With Conditional Access enforcing MFA and device compliance, Intune managing session hosts, Microsoft Defender enabled, and session recording available for compliance, AVD satisfies PCI DSS, HIPAA, and FCA requirements with appropriate configuration.
